Guntur: YSRCP leader and former Minister Ambati Rambabu on Monday condemned the TDP coalition Government for attempting to pin the blame on the previous government regarding the recent incident where a gate at the Tungabhadra Project was swept away due to intense floodwaters and urged the authorities to expedite the repair work at the dam to prevent further loss of water and ensure the safety of downstream areas.

He told the media here that the 19th crest gate of the dam was washed away due to heavy flooding, leading to the release of approximately 90,000 cusecs of water downstream, posing a flood threat to districts like Anantapur in the State and clarified that Tungabhadra project is a joint project managed by Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, under the supervision of the Tungabhadra Board. The board includes representatives from these States and the Central Water Commission (CWC).
